yawn 122 Posted November 29, 2012 Found this on puretime website: http://www.puretime.co/product/santos-100-tt-on-leather-strap-gen-parts-eta2892/ Cost a whopping 2.8k, and interestingly enough the remark says 'Supplier of this watch stated most parts on this watch are genuine.' I sent email to them asking which parts are gen/rep. and I want to hear what you guys think about this rep. Good enough to be called super rep? or Meh rep? or I rip you cash hard rep? -yawn
greg_r 81 Posted November 29, 2012 There's also a SS only version of this for a bit less. They've been around for quite a while. Yes, it's basically gen - gen movement, case, etc. Silverspeed is the guy to talk to as he owns one - his review is in this very subforum, in fact: http://www.rwg.bz/board/index.php?showtopic=4021

Silverspeed 10 Posted November 29, 2012 Safe yourself $1k and try and find the Santos with the Sellita SW movement, mount a good gator strap on it and you got yourself a very good rep Santos
greg_r 81 Posted November 29, 2012 Safe yourself $1k and try and find the Santos with the Sellita SW movement, mount a good gator strap on it and you got yourself a very good rep Santos True - it's cosmetically very close to gen (at least until you take the back off). I notice the gap difference between 9 and 10, any other giveaways you can tell? Edited November 29, 2012 by yawn
Silverspeed 10 Posted November 29, 2012 My Santos is still as new. There are a few differences between the "Ultimate" and "1:1" Santos aside from the movement. For instance the bezel screws on the "Ultimate" are too round, the shape of the crown guard is different and so on....2 different watches from different makers basically. Mind you the differences are minimal, and not worth the premium
yawn 122 Posted November 29, 2012 and... i found this one with ETA movement http://www.puretime.co/product/santos-100-tt-on-brown-leather-strap-2009-eta2824/ imo I can't tell the difference (this one even look more like gen).

FWIW they were always a little hard to get hold of and I don't know what the current availability is like...

Silverspeed 10 Posted December 15, 2012 Yes lugwidth is 23mm for the Santos 100. $490 for a gen Santos strap is very steep..............I'd look for an aftermarket one, like a HKtan strap

Not this one. The rep strap is very good on mine. The only tell is the clasp. Interestingly mine is the same as Greg's but my bezel screws seem to be flatter and have a thinner slot. If you want to spend a good amount of $ for a good strap have a look at APB straps, they cost less then the gen strap and much better quality
