ebzen02 341 Posted February 9, 2010 (edited) Hello fellow BP fans and non BP fans, one of the best reps for the price just arrived today and I wanted to share some pics. I am astonished at how accurate and solid this watch feels. For less than $200 you get something that is as close to gen as it gets. Here are some pics.. I will continue to add: As usual, Andrew is da shat!! Gen for comparison: AR not that great on the gen Edited February 9, 2010 by ebzen02

Luthier 1 Posted February 9, 2010 Very nice watch, but for the same money you can buy 5004, not old 5002 model, and it will be with working power reserve.
ebzen02 341 Posted February 9, 2010 (edited) Very nice watch, but for the same money you can buy 5004, not old 5002 model, and it will be with working power reserve. Unfortunately, the one with the working PR is not accurate to gen. The gen 5004's date window does not have the ss boarder and it is a larger window. I went with the Non PR because it is almost 1:1 to gen. One never notices the PR anyway and when you wear it a lot it is usually set to max. Also, the hour and minute hands are way too skinny for a 5004. Edited February 9, 2010 by ebzen02
ebzen02 341 Posted February 9, 2010 what's the movement used? is it ETA or 21j? Asian 25J slow beat 21K bph (like gen)
Luthier 1 Posted February 10, 2010 Ebzen, new dials with correct DW already available, black and grey colors. But to me- dead dial is no-no. But if you're OK with it - God bless, watch is really beautiful, wear in good health! I love my BP very much too. I just feel sorry, that back is not glass, movement is just gorgeous! By the way, hands on 5004 replica are correct size, here's picture of genuine 5002 and 5004.
graman 2 Posted February 10, 2010 I love this watch...can't choose between a 5002 & a 5004 So guys.....since you have one each...lume shots? How about a full review??? Hey Luth!..shouldn't the 5004 have a black date wheel & white font?

ebzen02 341 Posted February 10, 2010 @Graham...I will try and review this 5002.. I believe that it is 98% close to gen-- I took 2% because of the non-working PR and the standard Rep lume.. Regarding the lume, from what I hear the gen lume is actually not that good. Some folks think that you don't even have to relume or change the AR.
Luthier 1 Posted February 10, 2010 5002 dial is "too busy", 5004 has much cleaner dial, the whole look is much more elegant. AR on my 5004 is great, lume is so-so, but Ebzen is right - it's not too good on gen. either. If you don't have watchwinder, working PR is very helpful. Yes, it should have black DW with white numbers, and last reps already has it. Besides, you can buy new dial without DW silver frame and new DW for a few bucks from almost any dealer. Back on 5004 is just fantastic, much better, than on 5002. Rotor on my 5004 is absolutely noiseless.
