Is the seconds hand likely to fall off again or do you push it in tighter or do you crimp the tube a little?

The dial was loose, no more feet. The second pinion was quite short. So moving the watch caused the dial to move and push off the second hand.

 

Now I first fixed the dial, crimped the second and then put it back now seems running nicely.

Thanks for the explanation. As often is the case, more to it than meets the eye. Good thing you were prepared for more than simply a loose hand.
