drrod 0 Posted December 10, 2012 I purchased a Beginners Pam 318 from Toro for my son. It worked fine for a while but then he was not able to set the time. I took the back off, fiddled with the set screw that holds the stem in and got it working again. For a while. And then it quit again. It always winds OK. It appears that the set screw is moving ever so slightly and then the stem does not engage as it should. If I screw the set screw down tight, it will not work. It appears to have to be slightly loose to function properly. Would a small dab of nail polish or Crazy Glue be OK to hold the set screw in the proper position? Or would I risk mucking it up worse? JohnPilot 1 Posted December 10, 2012 (edited) Maybe stem is too short. Its a neverending story with reps. Buy a new one for 3 USD on the bay or at cousins uk. I bought a bunch of stems for 7750 and 6497, now I am happy and can change. 1 out of 3 at least has this issue. Edited December 10, 2012 by JohnPilot
