Recommended Posts

I have just had a little bonus and I am going to treat myself to a Tourbillon replica. I was wondering which is the most well replicated watch with a Tourbillon?. Any info would be appreciated. Also if anyone owns a Tourby and wants to post photos of their watches please feel free to post here. Thanks peoples.

Luthier

JLC.

But you better save money for RWG tourbillon watch. Best movement, and... gen!

:D

The YouTube video of that JLC tourby is mesmerizing. It's a pity it's a fantasy dial but I want it anyway. I don't own one but I understand the tourby mvmts can be pretty fragile, and sending a watch to Guangzhou for repairs ain't cheap so that's held me back.

There is no accurate tourbi replica. Since the tourbi movement itself used in these replicas is genuine, then why not get an unbranded or nominal branded tourbillon watch or as Luthier said, wait for his RWG tourbi to come out. A tourbi should be appreciated for the movement itself, they are fascinating to watch go around on your wrist. These will hold a resale value in the gen. market. With the movement in a rep. case, it can only be resold in the rep. market, plus, it would not fool any gen. tourbi fan. and open you up maybe to some snotty-nosed ridicule.

True, but some are more accurate than others. I love the JLC Luthier mentioned (I have one too) but it is FAR from accurate. This, on the other hand, is quite a bit closer to gen:

That's the Breguet Classique Grande Complication Tourbillon 5317BA/12/9v6, google it and compare. I'll post pics of mine when it gets back from servicing by Chris.

Well, I posted it (with wristie) in the recent "your favorite rep" thread, so take that as you will:

http://www.rwg.bz/board/index.php?showtopic=40025&view=findpost&p=693538

I replaced the strap on my Breguet and Chris is getting it rhodium plated ... I want to do the same thing with the JLC but it's already getting wrist time as it is. I'm fortunate to have a work environment where it's not too out-of-place.

Be aware of the tourbillon movement, I think this is a Guangzhou or Seagull. The JLC tourbies with the Liaoning movement aren't nearly as nice to look at (I have one of those too but will be posting it in M2M sometime soon).

I really love the JLC, just the over all look of it.... swaying towards black face and RG

intend selling I have a one way obsession

tnanks to you guys

The write up on the jlc was excellent I'm also

tempted now with the Franck muller aeternitas

The newer version of this model looks pretty sweet, with the engraved automatic movement:

This is the FM I wear fairly regularly. I've really got to get a nice croc band for it though.

Damn, wish I didn't see that! :frusty:

I'll comfort myself knowing they look pretty much the same from the front.

Yeah, this Breguet certainly has to be one of the closest tourby reps to its gen:

I know now what I'm saving my money for!

And you'll save $100k!

Even if it was repped which I'm sure it never will. The rep would cost a ton!
