When a watch is no longer available..?

Quick question. When a specific rep watch model isn't available or discontinued what does it generally means.

The current version is discontinued and a better improve model is coming in the future?

The factory is on hiatus and given the unreliability of rep factories it may or may not come back?

The model will no longer be produced?

All of the above?

I ask because lately I've encountered this issue with TD and am curious as to what will happen, I know that popular models like Rolex, Omega and Panerai when this happen is because a better version is probably coming, but what about other not well known but still popular models??

I also assume that the recent crackdown put a big dent on reps.

It could mean anything, but usually, it mean factory just don't make this model anymore. Reason? Many. Sometimes old supplier of parts is out of business, or got bigger order from another watch factory, sometimes demand is low, etc.

I was wondering the same - the Breitling Super Ocean Heritage V2 is tickling my fancy but from posts on here it appears to be discontinued.

It was next on my list, but I will need to go back to the drawing board!

A couple of yrs ago, Ploprofs were everywhere....Now they're almost free from at least one TD...

I bought my first Pam 212 in '04...Then they disappeared until maybe 3 yrs ago when they reemerged in a more accurate configuration....now they're in short supply again.

I own several reps that were built just once, and most likely will never reappear like this one:
