Recommendations for perfect dress pam?

Recommended Posts

scropper

As the title says, I'm looking for dress pam recommendations - ideally with pics from you experts!

Have had a 183 - loved it, but gave it to a friend who also loved it

Really like the 232 and am prepared to do the cartel/dsn thing but dunno if it's too big to be considered dressy. Thoughts?

Maybe a 210? with gold hands?? Can we even do that in rep-world?

Are there any other models I should be considering? I've got a 113, 111 and 199, Feel that I need to get smart now!

Thanks in advance for any and all responses.

S

Get a few tools and you can do anything you want!

Or ask JohnG very nicely :D

Really? We have the gold hands available?! Sweeeeeet - seen pics on risti and loved the look the modded gens have.

Thought I'd have to get gen hands for it and wasn't keen to drop big dollars on a rep to be honest.

Now, noob-time, who's JohnG?

Just check out the hand sets at getat. http://www.siswatch727.com/index.do

Great site, thanks. $11USD for some hands - thank you very much!

Gold-handed 210, here I come!

My favourite dress PAM is my 288:

Although, in all honesty, I wear my Fiddy rather more :)

210 sounds like a nice idea too, though :)

How about a custom build sterile dial 111 from Getat?

Simple, uncluttered, simple strap swapping to match outfits, superlume... :)

Or screw the PAMs and go for a Glashutte Senator Sixties from Robert!

Greg. Like that one. To me, the only Pams that are dressy are the Radiomirs.

I tend to agree - the 111, Fiddy et al can look good when wearing 'smart casual', but somehow they don't quite work with a business suit (although that doesn't stop me if I'm in the mood to wear the Fiddy!).

Fortunately I don't have to wear a business suit very often (usually just for board/bored meetings ;) ) - but when I do, I tend to go with my DeepSea, the 183 or the 288. Usually the latter. I think my SOH might start getting some wear in those situations too.

To me you already had the answer and gave it away. The 183 is the dressiest Pam I own and I keep it for when I need to be dressing up smart.

183 in rose gold:

Also, to my eyes, a polished steel PAM like this 111 on a dressy strap works:

I've never viewed PAMs as dress watches. Are you talking about putting gold hands on a SS case watch?

depending on the size of your wrist the 232 will not look dressy.

With the right strap you can pull of the 183 or the 210. Not sure about gold hands though.

BTW, where can we find a good 210 dial?

I think I could actually like that Wempe. Good looking!

Hand winds are kind of a pain in the ass, though. I've got several and they don't get much wear.

Maybe it's me - I find the handwinds less hassle... All that 'swirling' shit first thing in the morning... too much like hard work - not to mention setting the date

Personally any base dial PAM or Rad is a good dress watch but no matter what you choose the key is the strap. OEM alligator or at a stretch calf.

I also like the Logo though some say this is too sporty looking but the 204 would be more sporty for dress occasions IMHO same as a 212 without the CG :f_run:

Thats a nice 204 though whats the story on that??
