Hendricks 0 Posted January 14, 2013 Greetings Everyone! Sure great to discover RWG. It has been a long haul to this point...having the confidence in placing an order from the trusted dealer list. I have been browsing watch porn for years but just when I get ready to pull the trigger my due diligence uncovers a possible scam, so I slink away. This time around I was more determined to uncover the truth about replica watches. I have been monitoring RWG for over a month now and I'm convinced that RWG is all about ensuring that the pursuit of our hobby is a happy one. I am earning a real education here. Thanks for the generosity of members for sharing their hobby in such high-spirited fashion as well as the patience you offer us newbies. I appreciate that RWG is actively moderated and ungentlemanly behavior is quickly corrected. A little about me: I'm retired from the gun trade where I enjoyed many years of arming the citizenry of Canada in pursuit of their peaceful hobby. It was a mail-order only business, shipping merchandise across the country. Also operated a bullet manufacturing business. Live in same home my ancestors homesteaded nearly 200 years ago. Back to watches: I am taking up watch repair(self-taught). I'm prompted to do so by my gen Rolex which was handed down to me. In the family since new but came to me not running, about 34 years ago. I promptly took it to a watchman for a repair... that lasted 1 day. I gave up. I now intend to erase that discouragement from my life and affect my own repair. My reason for buying reps, aside from my love for the classic original designs, is to get the feel and experience of working on new, unblemished, mechanical movements that have not had their inerds butchered by repair attempts using improper tools. Seems nearly every nice old movement I come across has buggered screws! ( Now is the time for any accountants out there to speak up and advise me on using my rep purchases as a tax write-off ). After visiting every single trusted, ordered 4 econo pieces from Silix on Dec. 11. Received 1 so far. Will post results once the dust settles. Cheers!
