That watch is so hot, so when you put it on the snow, it melts it's way down to the ground.

I have a seiko 5, which is the mini monster. Same case etc, but WR to 100m not 200m like the monster. It's a great watch for the money, it feels solid kinda like the breitling (heavy). Really well made and has great lume. I would say just get one, you wont be disappointed.

I once had a black monster. There's something about the combination of in your face looks, reliability, affordability and durability that attracted me. Not to mention THAT lume. Fantastic watch. Deserving of the cult following its got.

Orange Monster.....I'm never worried about this watch getting hurt, I think it could survive anything I throw at it.

Don't hesitate. Will be the best money spent on a gen and is cheaper than most reps that will break or not live up to expectations for you. The monster line has a workhorse movement that is very accurate time keeping in my experience, but also low function without hacking or manual winding via the crown (only the rotor winds it). And as mentioned previously, crazy strong lume. The only mod I did on mine was put an AR coated sapphire crystal in it from Harold/Yobokies. I have taken it diving many times, but more recently it has been delegated to just desk diving and enjoying it on Kain Heritage croc strap. :)

More recently on Kain Heritage croc, and with AR sapphire crystal swapped...

I passed on a black monster about 4 months ago for $160 that included 3 straps and a bracelet. Been kicking myself ever since. Have 2 other Seiko divers and really like them all.

I have tho orange on ss then bought a rubber strap locally for diving. Solid performer, for the price, hard to beat. I like the neo monster with the white dial, surprisingly its not so easy to find it even on ebay. There are a few, but I don;t like the 100M rating on that one, but for a daily beater and for the pool I think it would be great and will probably buy one eventually.

The lume on the monster is like a flashlight. All the seiko divers seem to have that lume an it;s really something.
