kimbari 0 Posted March 12, 2010 Hi! I'm Kim. Just wanted to introduce myself and let y'all know I'm not a spy or anything. I'm just here to learn about reps because I know absolutely nothing and I read that a forum is a good place to learn. So I may be asking questions and if there's anything anybody thinks I should know, please tell me! Thanks for the welcome.

greg_r 83 Posted March 12, 2010 GET OUT WHILE YOU STILL CAN! LMAO!!!! Probably the best advice ever given to a newbie, but welcome, Kim! The best advice I can give you - apart from aneki's - is to take your time. Have a good read of the board. Take a look at our forum dealers, the trusted dealer list and the review forums before even thinking about buying anything. There's a lot of good info in there. When you have some idea of what you are looking for, please don't hesitate to ask for some more specific advice

aneki 0 Posted March 12, 2010 When I started, I barely looked twice when it came to watches and didn't actually wear one. Now I've spent too much and have too many watches lying around. I'm even looking at watches up to the $15k marks and saving >_<. It's addictive to say the least but it's one hell of a hobby and a nice comradery along members. You couldn't start your journey any better place (I started mine without the help of my newfound friends here and learned the hard way). Good luck and welcome! ps. dingle's threads in section 8 is where you want to hang out ds.
trailboss99 996 Posted March 12, 2010 Welcome indeed. If you have a hankering for a few nice gens there is no better place to start tan a rep forum. I am being totaly honest when I say there are folk here who know far more about any gen you care to name than most of those who own one. You may also be surprised by the number of folk here who have quite substantial gen collections. The best way to decide if you want to plonk down 5, 10 or 20 grand on the real thing is to test-drive it with a high end rep first. Many are the members who have had a "Victor Kiam" moment and loved the rep so much they bought the gen. A lot of them are now Breitling Super Ocean Steel Fish owners. Anyways, glad to have you on board, enjoy. Regards, Col.
