Photobucket 101

Recommended Posts

dingle

I am posting this for the noobs who may not know how to post pictures. I have been asked on several different occasions on how it is done. The following is the easiest way I found to post pics. biggrin.png

The first thing you will need to do is upload your photos to a hosting website IE: photobucket or flickr. I will be using photobucket as some of my “section 8†pics are visible from flickr. smile.png

After you have logged on to photobucket, click the “upload images and videos†button. Choose the photo you wish to upload. This may take a minute or two depending on the size of your photo.

PB1.jpg

The next step is to copy the URL address and paste it in your thread. Click on the IMG code, right click and select “copyâ€.

PB3.jpg

Now go to the thread you wish to paste your picture. All you have to do is “right click†and paste your IMG code and you are done.

GREAT Tutorial DingleBerry !!!. I've never used PhotoBucket, always used my mac.com account or my own domain's hosted site for pics but PB is great. Thanks for the post.

Cheers all,

Peter

This will come in handy. I would started out assuming the pics could just come off my hard drive & been confused /irritated /stressed. You know, all those things that happen when I don't read the directions...?!?!

Very useful tuto, but unfortunately photobucket closes accounts without any kind of warning or reason. It happened to me exactly 5 times (this year)

If you use Picasa 3 to edit your pics, you can email them directly to your photobucket account.....It's so damn easy, I forgot how to get them there any other way!!

No mate, you've posted that as a link to your album rather than as an image. Hit the little square icon that looks like a photo and then paste the direct link to the image (not to the album) into the resulting dialog.

Alternatively just surround the link to the actual image (i.e. http://domain.com/di...ry/whatever.jpg ) with IMG tags like so: :img:

Can someone add one for I pad as its not quite the same process. Not a techy so wouldn't even attempt it. I know it's similar to this but loads are now on I phone/ I pad. If its already done then apologies.

you need to load the photobucket app.

take your pic and load to photobucket via the app

click on your pic once loaded to photobucket. On the bottom right of photobucket is an "i" for information. Click on the "i" and several codes will show

click on the IMG code and it will state "copied IMG code"

go back to the RWG page where you were posting and paste.
