Our wedding cost us about £10,000 in 1998 and it was a complete waste of money. Neither of us enjoyed the day at all, nor do we have fond memories of it, with the exception of riding in a nice Rolls Royce for 30 minutes. Got let down by several tiny things, like the photographer being a complete twat, the mother-in-law taking over and pushing the wife into things she didn't want, the meal being shit and cold, and would sooner have had £10k less to pay on the mortgage to be fair.
