AllergyDoc 40 Posted December 28, 2008 (edited) This is more of a dealer review than watch review, but as Jackie Chen is not a recommended dealer here, and dealer reviews are limited only to recommended dealers, I'll post this brief review in the Rolex forum. I purchased this watch from Jackie on December 18th and received it on the 27th--9 days. Not bad considering it was shipped just before the weekend in China and over the Christmas holiday here. Also, it survived a pass through the S.F. customs with being assessed an extra tax, no small feat, and was even routed incorrectly from S.F. to who-knows-where and back to my office in central Calif. Communication was generally good, the only delay being getting a tracking number over the Chinese weekend. Perhaps Jackie has a life? I opted for the Asian ETA clone over the "Swiss" ETA just to be frugal over the Holidays. It's picked up 15 seconds in a day and a half. If it doesn't settle in and get closer to COSC I'll crack it open and adjust the timing. This watch has already been beautifully photographed by others more talented than I, so I'll just post a few shots. It is, simply, a stunning replica. I'm more impressed with this watch than I was with the GMT-II C. The pearl is beautiful, the steel brushed to a gorgeous sheen: The "Rolex-Rolex-Rolex" on the rehaut is almost invisible to the naked eye: The bezel engraving is sharp and to my old eyes, the numbers appear thinner in real life than they did in others' pictures: Lume is second only to my Big Bang King SS, which is perfectly even and equally bright on the hands, hour markers, and bezel triangle. Here's my poor attempt at a lume shot: A parting wrist shot: I was a little apprehensive about buying from a new dealer, new to me, that is. Also, Jackie had no reviews here on RWG.CC. I didn't buy anything off TRC so I knew nothing of his reputation there. However, I was lured by his promise to "negotiate" a price. This watch is stunning, the service and price were very good (I promised not to publish the price), and I can highly recommend Jackie Chen as a dealer. How do new dealers have a chance if we don't alow reviews? I positivly encourage reviews of new dealers. We need them. Not realy shure why Greg put that on there. Col. I think Luthier's girl, Julia would have come in at the same price. She said she would charge $215 w/o shipping. I was going to buy from her but she didn't respond to 2 requests for her PP addy so I bought from Jackie. Then today I get an email from her asking me if I've been busy lately. ?
