taukappaepsilon 0 Posted March 25, 2013 I want to buy new daily beater/daily swimmer for the beach/pools/hottubs and I'm set on getting a vintage sub/sd. Which one would you chose out of the white 1680 or the red 1665 and why? My current collection consists of an AP Diver, PAM 111, and EXII polar. I think I'm leaning towards the 1665sd because I like the domed crystal since it sets the watch apart. What are all of your opinions?
746_heuer 0 Posted March 25, 2013 it's you who has to choose, depending on your wrist size and if you like cyclops or not

fetasigma 0 Posted March 25, 2013 if its going to be a daily beater go to time shops get it in a 21j(wich has the right movment speed) and you can get both for under 150......that's what I just did and added a military sub to boot
aafanatic 0 Posted March 27, 2013 They are both awesome. When I can't decide it is because they are both awesome. I like the cyclops and I like the double red. I am not much help but you can't go wrong with these.

WhiteChocolateJr 4 Posted March 28, 2013 For getting in and out of pools and hot tubs? I'd get an Orient or a Seiko. A Rollie rep will start to leak a helluva lot faster than a "budget" gen.
paulc 0 Posted March 28, 2013 double red with the domed crystal looks fecking glorious on a nato band.

Will the watch from Ryan at intime be waterproof? He says it is. If I get it greased and have my guy replace and then regrease all the rubber gaskets should it be waterproof? How many bars have you tested yours to?
timetech08 0 Posted March 28, 2013 well i cant speak for theres im going by experience, the mbw vintage is the best and hard to get now , they dont make them any longer , i am a modder from many years ago and those are made exactly like genuine i owned the genuine to compare back then ,, u could put gen crystals , the thing about them leaking is around the crystals and not orings usually ,, it has to be secure like genuine imho, i might have an extra laying around ,, if interested lmk via email and i will see what i can do about it but they are not as cheap as those

taukappaepsilon 0 Posted April 2, 2013 Just an update, I actually ordered both Ryan's 1680 and bought an original MBW single Red Sea dweller 1665. I'm going to do a comparison of the two and then sell the 1680 as catch and release since there is no reason to have both the 1680 and MBW 1665. They should both be here tomorrow so ill post pictures then.
taukappaepsilon 0 Posted April 3, 2013 My original MBW 1665 srsd came in today. I love everything about it except for the fact that the bracelet is a full link too big and I can't remove anymore links. Any ideas how to make it smaller?
paulc 0 Posted April 3, 2013 Dump the bracelet and whack it on a nato. I got a double red 1665 and did just that after duffing the case and face up....well pleased now.
