Greyfriar's Bobby 0 Posted April 17, 2013 (edited) Hi guys, Thought I'd post a few (iphone) pics and a few comments on my newly arrived Explorer II 42mm from Marvellous Watches. Here goes: Watch was well packed in bubble wrap, foam balls and in a well insulated polystyrene box. Well packaged up: As far as I can tell, all the dial print is good. It's crisp, correct, aligned well with no blemishes. The only slight blemish i can find on the whole dial is a tiny vertical "crease" in the lume the 6 marker that runs the length of the marker, but it's barely noticeable to the naked eye. Rehaut engraving is a little "scratchy" and not nearly as heavy as a gen, but that's only to be expected. But it is lined up as it should be and carries the faux serial number at the 6 o'clock. The clasp is, well it's pretty much perfect! I tried a gen out for size in an AD last week, and I can't even tell the difference. Perfect fit, finish and adjustability. Etchings and engravings on the clasp are better than expected tbh. Dark, crisp and all correct font etc. Lume. Well, see for yourself. This wasn't even charged. I just drew the curtains and... HELLO! It's the correct colour as per gen and all markers and hands are well lit up. Overall time from sending money via Western Union to receipt of this most excellent watch? Exactly 14 days. Day one - sent money Day 5 (national holiday interrupted play!) received QC pics Day 6 - Approved pics Day 14 - received watch Happy days. Thanks Marvellous! I thought it was excellent! (?) No the lume is good, but the application of the lume is terrible. Look at the marker @6. I've got this version as well and the lume was terrible on that to. Ah, gotcha. Yeah, it definitely has a slight crease as I said my OP, but it really is hairline. I only spotted it cos I scrutinised each individual marker. Greyfriar's Bobby 0 Posted April 17, 2013 I got it from Marvellous. Would highly recommend. I had a couple of issues with the QC pics, but he assured me it was just the pictures and not the watch. That watch goes with anything, perfect with a suit or jeans, pure understated elegance. Someday . . . Also appreciate the size comparison, have a 40 mm Exp 2 rep that runs spot on, have often considered shifting it to move up to this bad boy It just seems a mite much, will continue to ponder but standing pat for now . . . I really can't fault it. AS I said in the OP. I had a gen in my hand last week, and I honestly couldn't tell the difference clasp-wise. It's that good.
