reximda 0 Posted May 5, 2013 I get that like everything in this world, we all have wildly different tastes, but for the life of me, I just can't even find the attraction to some of the stuff out there. Even some of the wildly popular stuff. Most everything by Hublot falls into this category for me, as well as the APROOs. Lets not even talk about the Montauk. I just don't get it. I find myself liking super simple clean designs. Busy watches make me ill. I love most everything by Panerai and Omega, but I just can't wrap my head around the Ploprof line. TAG has probably the most divisive lineup on the planet, half being classics (Monaco, Carerra etc,) but also some of the ugliest (Grand Carerra) I don't care if you love the ones I've called out. Like I said I get it, to each his own. For curiosity's sake though, what's on your fugly watch list?
fatarms 7,839 Posted May 5, 2013 Ploprof looks like a pack of Marlboros fucked a slot machine. Montauk highway, wouldn't be caught dead wearing that pig. B&R - not my bag. I don't get the appeal of strapping an airplane gauge to your wrist. Anything on mesh. Sorry, but nothing ruins a watch faster than mesh. Pretty sure I've pissed off a good part of the membership already, I'll just quit now
reximda 0 Posted May 5, 2013 I was kind of afraid of that, but I've got a B&R and love it. It's all good. And your first two... Yes, that.
TyLoper 0 Posted May 5, 2013 Agreed on the Ploprof & the Montauk
TheSav 2 Posted May 5, 2013 I don't get the fascination with Hublots either. And those B&R's is like strapping a wall clock to your wrist.

That should stir up the mob.
reximda 0 Posted May 5, 2013 That's more a size issue. I agree, the BR01 series at a chunky 46mm square felt too big even on my 8" wrist. Love the BR03 though. And love the aviation design overall.
machiavegli 6 Posted May 5, 2013 Check the "Hall of Shame". The Gaytona is a personal favorite
Guyute 0 Posted May 5, 2013 I hated Panerai until I tried on a gen. Now I'm sold. I'm afraid to try on a gen Hublot, B&R, AP or PloProf.

James. 4 Posted May 5, 2013 I've been feeling the temptation for a Hublot...
RussP 22,629 Posted May 5, 2013 Usually anything with a dial that contains more than 3 hands and a nice sized date window. When I glance at my watch, I just need to know the time, and sometimes the date. Anything more is just distracting at my age................ :yoda:

dudermania 0 Posted May 5, 2013 I don't understand the fascination with Panerai's. I've actually tried on gen's but I really don't get it. I do like simple watches so just don't understand why it isn't aesthetically pleasing to me. Hublots and Rolex's, some Omega's are also a no-no. Perhaps these things are a phase. At the moment I swoon over Pateks, IWC's (the Perpetual Calendar is a subject of wet dreams), the classic Tags. Give me a year and maybe I'll be "bleh!" on those! :suck:
Kleen™ 45 Posted May 5, 2013 Hublot. Breitling. TAG Heuer, B&R. etc.. Honestly, there are more brands out there that gives me the creeps than good ones, but Hublot most defintiely takes the price - it's my all time favourite pet-hate brand...
Kleen™ 45 Posted May 5, 2013 To wear a Hublot you gotta be fucking blind. Well, that or russian.
