wjalink 0 Posted April 21, 2010 I recently bought a IWC rep but I can't find it anywhere on the IWC website. I think it is a none existing model but I would like to know for sure. Does anyone recognize it? Even if it is fake model: I really like it. The watch looks great!

Member X 91 Posted April 21, 2010 Looks like a fantasy model to me - but that doesn't mean it doesn't look good! Nice choice :(

Luthier 1 Posted April 21, 2010 Nice watch! It's heavily modified 21j mov't, and it was made around year 2000, because left subdial (year) ending on 2007(07).
Baldrick 1 Posted April 21, 2010 (edited) It's a fantasy model, not accurate to any of the IWC range, standard Chinese 21j auto movement, day date indicator mechanisms at 3 and 6, day and night indicator on what I think is non-running seconds at 6, that sub dial is usually a "follower", it tracks the main hands, it can be set as a GMT indicator, but doesn't allow independent setting, month and year indicators at 10 and 2, it's a complication model, BP case and mushroom crown. Very handsome piece, most people haven't heard of IWC, so shouldn't present any great problems exposure wise unless you run into an IWC fanatic, they're rarer than hobby horse manure. Wear it with pride and enjoy it, it's a very nice piece, the big case makes a statement and the two tone steel and gold gives it a certain cachet :( because left subdial (year) ending on 2007(07). I need a new pair of eyes, I could have been quite certain the year window was showing 2010, the subdial at 9 shows 7 because it's a day indicator, I think also it's a much later movement than 2000, JMHO :( Edited April 21, 2010 by Baldrick
Luthier 1 Posted April 21, 2010 No, it's me, who need another pair of glasses, I missed read year indicator, you're right, Bald. :( On the first picture it's covered by minutes hand, so, I didn't noticed it.

narikaa 129 Posted April 21, 2010 Trick when buying these movements is to strip off the cling wrap and check how many years left on the year indicator Barrel of laughs if it finished last year :P .
speedzmaster 0 Posted April 21, 2010 It looks like the Chinese didn't know how to spell Glashutte, so they stuck IWC on the dial instead.
narikaa 129 Posted April 22, 2010 Thats how it goes And when they can sell no more of them Its usually 'PATEK' next - Then 'TAG' :dingleberry: .
