This is a spring loaded thing-a-ma-jig, as you can see by the last picture. It looks like it might be heat or chemically darkened on one side of the tip. What is it???

Is it some kind of pin pusher?

31 views and only one try.

Sammy, good guess but I can't see how that would work. I'm starting to wonder if it's not some kind of jewelry making thing since it seems burned on the long end.

OK, time to move on to the next item I guess, unless there are any more ideas.

A complete guess, but it looks like it might be a clamp used for holding small parts (possibly even chains) while soldering.

That's the only thing I've been able to come up with also. I think you are probably right.

But any other possibilities are still welcome.

OK I will take a stab at it. My guess is that it's a center pin extracting tool for taking pins out of piano action flanges. There are many different kinds, pictured below is a pliers type and about 100 years newer.

My final answer.

I'm not seeing how it can remove a pin when the moving point is not in a position to apply pressure to anything.

Oh well it was just a guess anyway...Looks like it will remain an unsolved mystery.
