arancini 0 Posted May 31, 2013 So the caseback on one of my PAMs keeps falling off after returning from Mod service. This watch was brand spanking new. I never even wore it. Bring it to the watchsmith to repair it. He discovers the case is actually stripped. Spent all up US $500 on this watch with Mods. Watchsmith immediately recognizes the A7750 and comments "I can fix it, but that's what you get when you buy cheapies". Farking Happy Days alright!
flyr 4 Posted May 31, 2013 I'd be wondering how the damage happened in the first place
arancini 0 Posted May 31, 2013 Contacted the Mod on RWI (not a trusted TD here). Will see what he comes back with. Fingers crossed.

LightGeek 25 Posted May 31, 2013 So the caseback on one of my PAMs keeps falling off after returning from Mod service The TD would have to be really nice to do anything at all since it's been opened and fiddled with.
Frankt8242 1 Posted May 31, 2013 (edited) How the fuck do you strip the caseback on a Pam...???.... Who did your "mod service"..??...A blacksmith...??? :help3: :help3: :help3: (or maybe that McNair guy is back....???) Nothing to do with the TD. They were excellent. Watch arrived from them in A1 condition before being mailed for Modding. It's the individual who did the Mods who has a lot to answer for. bgreg 0 Posted May 31, 2013 Was it a modder from one of the forums? Maybe the forum moderators can help? Hope it works out for you..
scorpion 0 Posted May 31, 2013 So what is a Mod - Man of Destruction? I have never managed to strip a caseback in all of my mod balls ups, you would have to badly cross thread it and then keep going with brute strength until it stripped. It would be obvious as you turned it unless you were popeye and just eaten 10 tins of extra strong spinach. i feel you pain - good luck with getting it sorted out. arancini 0 Posted May 31, 2013 Cheers Scorp. This was going to be my Daily PAM as I absolutely love the design. Went to the effort of modding it and now this. Modder has offered to replace the caseback, as of yet, won't offer a refund for damaging my watch (the seconds hand also fell off when I tried to gently screw the caseback back on). Lesson painfully learned.

arancini 0 Posted May 31, 2013 Not a trusted Mod watchsmith here but on RWI. Will wait and see if he offers me a refund.

Frankt8242 1 Posted June 1, 2013 We REALLY need to know who this "butcher" is.......A lot of the bretheren depend heavily on outside modders to feed their "'habits", and they need to know who NOT to deal with!!....
KeNnY 29 Posted June 3, 2013 Oh damn mate, sorry to hear your pain, hope he will fix it for you can you show pics for us , the mods done ?
timetech08 0 Posted June 3, 2013 I wonder was it ceossthreaded frim the factory and the unlucky modder got it already crossthreaded unless you opened it before sent to modder? This can happen, ive seen it maybe one time 10 years on a black sub tw best from eddie lee but el gave the guy a new watch case , just l9oking at it from both sides;) Sent from my Samsung Note 2 using Tapatalk

How would you know? I thought it was sent direct to the modder in question?? There is more to this story than is being told here, put the tar and feathers away you lot. arancini 0 Posted June 3, 2013 Not sure what you're implying? I received the watch from TD. Then sent straight to Modder same day. What I can tell you mate is that when I casually inspected it from the TD, the caseback didn't fall off. As soon as it arrived from the Modder, it did. Still in discussions with Modder who has agreed to pay for the cost of repair.
trailboss99 996 Posted June 3, 2013 Sorry, I was under the impression it went direct to the modder, I appear to have the wrong issue in my mind here.
arancini 0 Posted June 3, 2013 Was scratching my head there for a second.
narikaa 129 Posted June 3, 2013 Mmm Lets go CSI for a moment Surely if the 'modder' was taking his prescribed dosage of Instant Expert Tablets he would of noticed that the caseback was crossed threaded and foooked the instant he set to work on it and would have raised the matter n'est pas If not up to date on the Expert pills or the dosage not kicking in with sufficient efficacy and this not noticed ( or heaven forbid not in existence) on receipt then the guilt is easy to attribute noh? Jeees didnt even need to run DNA analysis
RussP 22,492 Posted June 3, 2013 Hey Reg !! Can you get me some of 'dem Instant Expert pills please? Things at work are starting to take longer (than usual) to resolve easily..............
