solkryssare 109 Posted May 3, 2010 It's not finished but I'm very happy the way this turned out. Especially considering it's the first time I do major modding on a watch. Here are the features: MBW case and case back. All edges sanded. Lug holes drilled out. CG's shaved. Lugs slightly reshaped and case back engravings smoothed out. The whole thing was beaten up a bit, then polished, then beaten up some more, then polished again and finally lightly brushed. Clark superdome. LOVE IT! This has not been aged since they have a way of doing that very well on their own, very quickly Gen insert aged. I went a bit overboard here and it became lighter than I indented it to be. A new one is ordered. Still haven't figured out how to age the pearl. Gen spring bars Gen 585 end links Gen clasp Gen crown/tube Gen date wheel glued directly on the existing one 2846 Movement. Bracelet got the same treatment as the case and case back. Yuki dial aged and treated to look like it was exposed to moist at some point. This was done with clear varnish that I didn't leave to dry, but immediately pressed a dry cloth on it after applied I the varnish. I did this twice and it left a pretty cool texture to the dial. Yuki Tudor hands All gaskets greased. Gen vintage box. Really don't know why I bought that. Got a bit carried away I guess. Hope you like.......
KBH 7 Posted May 3, 2010 I love it! Maybe someday I''l get mine back from Speedy. I sent it to have the 2846 movement fully serviced 4 months ago. I popped out the pearl and put it in a toaster oven and baked it a very light brown. It worked great. Unfortunately I don't have a very good picture of the pearl, though. solkryssare 109 Posted May 3, 2010 very nice. awesome skills you have Thank you gents. I wouldnt go so far as to call them skills. Its more of a trial and error rutine. Which is a pretty costly way to go about doing things I might add

solkryssare 109 Posted June 7, 2011 Great work Sol; I didn't realize you were a watch smith too. :( Yeah pretty nice huh? I wouldnt call my self a watch smith or even a modder for that matter. I'm very much a noob when it comes to these things and with a track record of breaking almost everything I touch, I've handed these things over to people who actually knows what they are doing. This came out very nice, but if you knew about all the parts that had to die for me to get there.....

gB. 0 Posted June 7, 2011 I love it! Maybe someday I''l get mine back from Speedy. I sent it to have the 2846 movement fully serviced 4 months ago. Good luck with that. "Speedy" has had my 6263 for 6 months now, with no end in sight. JC over on RG should make him change his name to "platonic shift G" or something similar that better represents his work ethic and communication timing...
