1680 In Progress

Recommended Posts

Blacksheep

Still working on this one. Picked it up from a member off another forum awhile back and did some tweaking on it.

Swiss ETA 2836

Shaved GEN Insert (Not verified, but it looks like one)

Replaced with new 127 Crystal

Replaced NATO with Fitted Rivet Bracelet

Need to:

Drill Lug Holes

Add GEN Spring Bars

Shape Crown Guards

Age Dial or replace with a Yuki Dial

Here are some pictures. Let me know what you see that needs to be worked on.

Thanks,

WK

Looks good but the CG's need a little more shaving on the inside, as you mentioned. Lot of potential there.

Here's a gen to compare. Maybe the picture will help you out.

There it is! sweet. I agree with KBH on the CG's and perhaps ageing/reluming hands and dial as well? Might be the pictures but they look quite yellow. With a little more work that piece will be off the charts. Love the way the insert turned out!

Edit: just noticed that CG's and dial and hands are on your to do list :) that list should do the trick and get you one sweet ass 1680.

A little CG work is needed, but other than that it looks damn good so far. Once you get that dial aged or replaced with a Yuki, it's gonna look INSANE!!! I just friggin LOVE the insert. The sun-faded look is just BEAUTIFUL and gives it that aged look that a rollie like this needs, and add that rivet bracelet....spot on!! Don't rule out the NATO straps though Mr. Bond!

for me its just the dots look to yellow and plastic. I would relume the dial and the hands.

Go in a artist/art/hobby material shop and ask for this product : LIFECOLOR ref. LC33, matt phosphor.

Very easy to apply, no risk of a mess

Nice so far. The lume is far too yellow as has been said. Should be more brownish when aged.
