hello im just wondering if a cortebert 697 cal movement can be used in a panerai california build any help and advice would be great.

You would need a custom made movement holder cause of the small diameter

and custom made hands or tube to fit the hands on that movement.

I have had great success using a Molnija 3601 or 3602. Look almost just like a

 

Cortebet movement. And can be found rather cheap on the bay.

Thanks J. Eric, I'm very new to this and seeing some of the great projects others have done is inspiring me to give it a go, thanks for the advice about the Molnija 3601 or 3602 movements I have had a quick look on Ebay hopefully I'll be able to pick one up.
