fakemaster 0 Posted May 9, 2010 Jewels serve mutliple functions in watch movements. They prevent wear by preventing two parts from touching. If used as a cap they prevent movement of a shaft or other part. If installed on the end of a pivot point such as a pallet fork they provide balance and oscillation.
