Recommended Posts

I just received my Omega PO 45.5 with a new gen crystal installed by 1010 and a relume job. In keeping with the US July 4th celebration...here are the pix for proof. One word me...special.

Yeah us rookies like me...should just stick to wearing these beauties instead of tri-posting. But here's a not so good lume shot.

The minute hand looks like a different colour? I hope this is just me being blind, or the picture being bad?

Thanks for all the kind words. It's nice to know I'm not the only geek.

Few comments on the watch. To me the CRPO 45.5 strikes a perfect balance of presence, weight, and comfort. My wrist is a 7.2 and it just feels perfect and practically unnoticed except I love to look and see what time it is. And after giving the SS braclet an oil bath the sound of it isn't tinny and it feels smooth as silk.

Because the CRPO was my first rep I was really spoiled and thought I'd receive that same feel from my other rep selections. I really dig all my reps...the PAMs are really cool great balance there too and I love the DSSD but wish the SS braclet was a bit thicker/wider to match the heff of the watch. The AP Diver is a recent pickup from Toro and I look forward to the opportunity to wear it. But again...the Omega does it for me.

I've heard rumbling about the ETA movement having problems so today I took in the CRPO to the local rep friendly watch repair guy to perform preventative maintenance. He studied the watch and then loudly proclaimed that this is not a cheap knock-off...but a quality rep with real Swiss non-Omega ETA. It really felt good hearing that and further justified my new hobby. Despite his compliment, next time I'll do the maintenance myself.

MCJules - its been awhile since I picked up the gen double AR crystal but I believe it cost around $170. But well worth it. Even as a noob I could tell the crystal AR sucked big time and I liked the watch so much I was willing to invest in fixing it. Still cheaper than a gen. Yesterday while outside with my son he mentioned being able to see the time on my watch from distance and the sun at the time was shining bright. That alone justifies the crystal purchase.

The new lume job lights this baby up like a torch. It needed to be done cuz the hands were much brighter than the dial.

I guess I'm an Omega fanboy...but proud of it.

Sorry...my longest post but thanks for reading.

nice watch. Did you buy the crystal or did 10:10 supply it?

I bought the crystal separately and ship it with the watch to 1010. The crystal really makes the watch pop.
