Firstly he takes all of these great watch photos - then he taunts me with photos of watches that he knows damn well I want to own but have been managing to resist so far. So anyhow, I've been getting steadily more interested in Seiko watches ever since I bought my snzh57 earlier in the year. I'm also something of a lume fiend. Which brings me to the black monster I currently have on my wrist. As mentioned above, it was Del's photos of his recently-acquired orange monster that finally galvanised me into action. This one came through a pal in the business and was a very good price - so good, indeed, that I'm tempted to buy the orange one as well Anyhow, I started with black as I figured it would more appropriate for daily wear at work. I bought it on the bracelet as I'm not too fond of rubber, but I have to say that the bracelet isn't as good as some I've had, being a bit clattery. I also had a fight to get it adjusted as for some reason a couple of the link pins just didn't want to come out and another fell out as soon as I looked at it (due to the collar at the other end being missing). However, I got it sorted eventually and having given it the WD40 treatment (I will try dry bike lube in due course) it's feeling quite a bit better than it did. I plan to try it on leather at some point, though. The watch itself is another matter, however. Built like a brick outhouse and looking far more stylish in the steel than it does in most pics, it's amazing quality for such a relatively inexpensive watch. The lume is astounding - my PAM 177 and 127 both have lume that last most of the night, but this thing is even brighter and was still glowing visibly at 4am after having been sitting on a dark shelf since about 6pm the previous evening. The watch is 43mm diameter and has lots of wrist presence. It feels less top-heavy than, say, a DSSD but is still a big, chunky watch. Anyhow, enough of this drivel. Pics! My daily is a divemaster auto...Built to withstand a nuclear war..and it gets loads of punishment as you would expect.. Btw i hate your pics every bit as much as i do Dels.
