LightGeek 25 Posted August 2, 2013 Never ever rush. Dinner is in 15 minutes and I thought to myself, what the fruck. Why don't I remove the bezel first. I expected it to be tough as per 5-6 other press fit bezels I've had to remove... What could possibly go wrong? This bezel was like butter. Fuck me. Now I have to spend the whole dinner out thinking how I'm going to fix this mess. Ideas?
LightGeek 25 Posted August 2, 2013 The GOOD thing about this is its the top hand. I can remove and refit without realigning everything. The key is how to do it. Remove hand and use two pieces of Rodico gently?
HarleyMo 2 Posted August 3, 2013 Where did you get the crystal, I've tried several TDs with no luck Sent from my Barnes & Noble Nook HD+ using Tapatalk 4 Beta
J.Eric 704 Posted August 3, 2013 Place the hand face down on something hard and push.....? I fixed a minute hand like that.
LightGeek 25 Posted August 3, 2013 So I put some tape on the end of my tweezers and bent it at the fulcrum (or as close as possible). Dial protector not shown. Turned out ok. Next, good ol' bezel press to gently pop out the crystal.
LightGeek 25 Posted August 3, 2013 Which is the AR crystal? The AR felt "cheaper" as if it was made of thin crystal or plastic. Trusty bezel press. Very, very gentle pressure needed. Cloth front and back protection not shown. Before: After: Was it worth it even with the bent hand fiasco? Hell ya!
SSTEEL 0 Posted August 3, 2013 Great job mate. I was about to suggest using the two lever tools to remove the chronograph hand, but I see you managed it in situ Where did you get the crystal/AR?
LightGeek 25 Posted August 3, 2013 Which of these three doesn't have AR? By the way the crystal appears to have double AR. Could be wrong, but it no longer matters
LightGeek 25 Posted August 3, 2013 Makes all the difference in the world. I LOVE it now.
HarleyMo 2 Posted August 4, 2013 Can I ask which TD you got the new crystal from. I've asked several and still no luck Sent from my Barnes & Noble Nook HD+ using Tapatalk 4 Beta
LightGeek 25 Posted August 4, 2013 Can I ask which TD you got the new crystal from. I've asked several and still no luck Sent from my Barnes & Noble Nook HD+ using Tapatalk 4 Beta Apparently they're no longer selling these parts separately. This was a special favor (so they say).
