andyjb83 0 Posted August 18, 2013 I'd get the Tangomat 38mm, Sapphire Back, noting its a few hundred out of your budget. If it's TRULY out of the budget get the same in manual wind. Manual wind are beautiful, esp in a quality gen piece. Have you ever worn a 35mm? They feel very small. I only have a 6.3 wrist. 35 is a bit small though. The Explorer I 36 was ok. Yeah my wrist is similar but anything smaller than a 38 IMHO is too small, unless it's like a vintage dress watch (patek calatrava etc). The Nomos is a lovely watch but it doesn't look that thin, hence 38mm would be my choice. Good luck with your decision! The manual winds are 6.2mm. Considered thin? Autos are thicker at 8.2mm. Yep, that's thin I agree. Get the manual wind - lovely way to connect with your timepiece. At 6.2mm thin it'll wear big even though only 38mm. Good luck man! LightGeek 25 Posted August 18, 2013 While it won't show me the thickness, sometimes you just gotta mock it up to see. Arts and crafts time!
LightGeek 25 Posted August 19, 2013 I'm a click away from ordering but holding back on either the 35mm gangreserve or the 38mm tangente... dammit if it was a rep I would have just bought both!
Wriggles 12 Posted August 19, 2013 but if I had to choose one, I'd go with the first one. Yep, 38mm Manual Wind. Ain't the end of the world with manual wind, you can appreciate it more then being a gen
LightGeek 25 Posted August 20, 2013 I'm waiting for the invoice. In the meantime, gravitating towards the 35 gangreserve.
LightGeek 25 Posted August 20, 2013 Gee this is tough. I think I'm going with the 35 and ordering tonight/tomorrow. I already have a rep 38 tangomat so might as well go with what cannot/is not repped.
LightGeek 25 Posted August 20, 2013 Negotiations broke down. It's only a scant 90 EUR difference if I bought used vs new from Nomos. Plus I confirmed that I have a no hassle return within 20 days from Nomos...
LightGeek 25 Posted August 20, 2013 Negotiating to 2035 USD and will probably close the deal in an hour. MSRP is 2560.

El_Cabong56 0 Posted August 21, 2013 Congrats on the Nomos! Mine was my first gen, and likewise I was compelled to buy a couple more gens after that.
LightGeek 25 Posted August 25, 2013 Shipping on Monday. On a related note, the gen Nomos strap is going back. Brown looks much better with the slate dial in my opinion.
