IWC Cousteau Diver Take 2

OK, Take Two for another one of my Cousteau Divers. This one was the 2008 Yellow and Blue version that has the image of Calypso on the case back, and strangely no Cousteau text on the dial. OK, on to the pics.

I've been looking at these IWC Cousteau Divers for quite a bit as my next purchase, but am divided between the blue 06 ("veneer" sticker), orange/blue 07, bright blue/yellow or blue 08, or the grey/blue dials of the 11.

Any of the TD can get them. I prefer Toro. Great to deal with.

I have one of these incoming now. Question, it's supposed to be water resistant and I see you have a pic of it spattered in water. Can you take this swimming? Just curious. How is it four months into ownership?

Nope. This watch is notoriously hard to water-proof due to the internal rotating bezel. If you waterproof it, you disable the internal bezel rotating mechanism. That said, mild splashes prolly fine.

NP. I think Francisco had a waterproofing tutorial for these a while ago, and it really looked over-complicated

I had ordered a version of this watch (with "Cousteau Divers" label on the dial) from another TD, but had to pick another watch when the QC photos showed a watch with a blue instead of a white seconds hand, which I preferred. In fairness to the TD, he said he did try, apparently without success, to get the right one. Now I'm eagerly awaiting this much more reasonably priced version that I ordered from Toro. A very smooth transaction so far.

Here it is! Of course my phone picture can't hold a candle to yours. The AR on this watch is so good, you want to touch the crystal to be sure it's there!
