gran 198 Posted September 4, 2013 I already posted the world's best Diver... the Longines. No you didn't GP Sure gets lot of points for deep date at 1 1/2 , but It sure is a hell of a lot more difficult to pronounce than Longines....I still love the Longines better (even if its a very thin diver)
Baldrick 1 Posted September 4, 2013 t It sure is a hell of a lot more difficult to pronounce than Longines.. One can only imagine how a Wiking would struggle........ ......I'll take the one that's easier to pronounce, will Wisa do?

RichardMiami 4 Posted September 4, 2013 Gotta admit... the Pelagos is having an effect on me...... a very serious effect. They will not be available at my AD's for another 3 -4 weeks... hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Irishcain 0 Posted September 6, 2013 The Tudor followed by the Oris. The Pontos is a beautiful piece, but it would suit more for a dress watch rather than diver IMHO.

Soopah Spy 0 Posted October 16, 2013 I simply cannot believe that no one has yet mentioned the Sinn UX. It is the dive watch which is issued to GSG-9, the German Special Forces. It is filled with an inert oil, which serves a dual purpose: it helps counter the effects of extreme pressure, and it also makes the face of the watch readable at extreme angles, by shifting the visual plane of the face to the top of the crystal. It's case is made of tegimented steel, and rated to a depth of 12,000 meters. They can be had for around $2,000 or €1,500. Also, it looks bad ass.
Lokin 0 Posted October 16, 2013 I find the strap of the eternal to be rather revolting... so the Tudor, though if it had a less blingly strap the eterna
gottahaverolex 0 Posted October 16, 2013 Hands down it's the Oris.
James. 4 Posted October 16, 2013 Oris is now off the list, tried it on last week, really dislike the saucer wrist feel from the short lug design. Pity, I really fancied it, luckily I tried it on before buying (online) Conversely, and unfortunately, I also tried on the ingy mission earth, so now ill be squirreling away for that I suspect. solkryssare 109 Posted October 16, 2013 You don't need a watch when diving anymore so it all comes down to what kind of diver you want to look like when you are on dry land. For me it'd be the Eterna. Classic oceanographer style time keeper.

Patron Saint of Heartache 0 Posted October 16, 2013 How much are these? They're really really seducing me! Are they affordable as in the sub 2k category or are we into omega PO/ rollie sub? I'm swooning over the pontos and Longines (they do look similar though) The eterna brings to mind the universal geneve of yore, which is a good thing

Chrisby 1 Posted October 17, 2013 You don't need a watch when diving anymore so it all comes down to what kind of diver you want to look like when you are on dry land. For me it'd be the Eterna. Classic oceanographer style time keeper. Absolutely! As a fellow diver I agree with JohnG, if you're really going diving (not scuba, but with a tank) then you need a Suunto of some description. Here's why (i have copied and pasted it: Nitrogen from a diver's air tank increases in pressure as a diver descends. For every 33 feet in ocean water, the pressure due to nitrogen goes up another 11.6 pounds per square inch,. As the pressure due to nitrogen increases, more nitrogen dissolves into the tissues. The longer a diver remains at depth, the more nitrogen dissolves. If you only have a diver, all that will generally do is tell you when your air will run out and what time you need to come back to the surface...you'll be in a whole world of shit if you've been at depth. Purely going on looks I agree with Solk...that Eterna is gorgeous, looks amazing on the mesh.
Patron Saint of Heartache 0 Posted October 17, 2013 Thanks Semaj! Hmm looks like i've to start saving for some gens! Knoffie, are you serious that the Marcello Netttuno is as well-made as a gen rolex sub?! More pics please! And how much?
