onzenuub 309 Posted November 2, 2013 $20,733 the Lambda And a rose-gold version tonneau shape case (white gold) with a baby blue outer-dial. This is the Lux, and it’s 40mm across and £13,800 ($22,330). It’s available in white too Nomos’s new direction: the Lux (£13,800) and the Lambda (£11,800) The movement in the two new watches – essentially the same movement design in round and tonneau form – is rather different The Nomos movement, called the DUW1001 in the round Lambda watch and the DUW2002 in the in the Lux, is clever too. It achieves that 84-hour power reserve by using two barrels that work simultaneously, feeding the power through a differential that that evens out the inconsistencies in rate between them. This makes for a more stable and accurate mechanism over all. But is it actually new? In fact, only in a manner of speaking. Nomos has had the opportunity to develop this kind of movement through working with Wempe, the German top-end retailer that’s also been putting increasing effort into its own watch lines. At the head of the Wempe table are its Chronometerwerke watches, tonneau-shaped pieces that contain the first iteration of what has become the DUW2002 and DUW1001 movement. Nomos has even made a tourbillon Chronometerwerke for Wempe, so perhaps it’s reasonable to assume there’ll be a Nomos tourbillon watch in the future.
