Lume options?

Recommended Posts

Member X

Just thought I'd ask this question as I know that a few people are looking to do lume at some point!

The glowinc V10 lume looks to be $9.29 for 1oz.

http://glowinc.com/SearchResult.aspx?CategoryID=3

and 1oz = 28 grams according to my converter??

If this is the case, how the hell does lum-tec charge $250 for 20 grams, or $48 for 2 grams??!

Is that not crazy money? :)

No that I can find it on the lum-tec website at the moment:

http://lum-tec.com/

or the other site

http://www.wiegandwatches.net/

that I've seen recommended somewhere else.

The glowinc stuff looks ridiculous value for money and just as good!

Hi X,

meanwhile, all my watches are lumed with the glowinc stuff - great value for what you get.

I would advise you to get a good binder, as the one I used (some clear varnish from a hobby store) had the tendency to shrink.

This resulted in a grainy lume finish not as smooth as it should be.

Right now, I do have lume from watchlume over on RWI, but I didn't have time to try it out. (stupid me - wrote goin, meant watchlume) :D

I'll let you know when I start working with it.

As for the lumetec stuff, I was looking for it too, can't find it either - maybe you'll have to PM Flavor or Vacuum - I don't remember which one is the lumeselling guy :)

Feel free to ask

Andei

Don't forget watchlume at RWI: http://www.replica-watch.info/vb/forumdisp...sories-207.html

Quality is as good as lum-tec at a fraction of the price. They have all the correct colours including a vintage and a stealth lume.

Glow inc is good but not quite as good as the above mainly because they are not specificly a watch lume product and the colours don't match watch lume as precisely as watchlume or lum-tec.
