Hello

Omega fan here - looking to get a new watch. Already have the Ceramic 2012 blue version from Andrew, good looking watch.

Anyway, anybody know if this is any good?

Although the ceramic 2012 s beautiful I kinda want one in the classic Bond-style, and I like the display back.

Also, anyone know if a good replica of this one exists?

P1310012.JPG

The model number is 2220.80.00, the version with the applied (not printed) Omega logo and writing. Other than that, just a regular "older model" Seamaster with the wave dial.

There is this:

Applied logo, but looks awful, with happy feet all over the place...

Anyone?

Hi JakD

Another newbie here - I hope you don't mind me asking but your ceramic Seamaster looks beautiful! Is Andrew TrustyTime? I'm about to take the plunge on the same watch but in black and can't decide on the best TD to go with? Your thoughts on your watch and experience would be greatly appreciated? Thanks.

Love the watch, a joy wearing. More pics of it here if you wanna take a look: http://www.rwg.bz/board/index.php?showtopic=63957

Comparison of black ceramic gen vs rep here: http://www.rwg.bz/board/index.php?showtopic=63221

This one is from Andrew at Trusty Time, yes. I don't really think it matters what TD you go for, most have all got the same prices, shipping prices and quality control. Was more of a random choice when I picked a TD really, but I chose Trusty time because they had a good looking and well organized website.

When it comes to the watch it is a joy to wear. It's quite heavy, not sure how much the gen weighs but I reckon they're pretty much the same. Bracelet is comfortable and the watch is easy to take on and off. Comfortable to wear, I often forget it's there. The attention to detail is pretty good, all in all a good rep. Keeps time well also, and the power reserve lasts a long time. No problem taking the watch off during the night, it will still be running in the morning. Crown is a bit hard to screw back in after setting the time and date etc, but if you just wear it on a daily basis and keep it wound it won't be a problem. As an fan of Omega I think it was a good choice as my first rep.

Tip: If you decide to order, be thorough when you inspect the QC pics. If you're a perfectionist (like me), you want to make sure everything is perfect. For example, a common problem with the SMP 300m reps is that the twelve o'clock markers are not parallel. I made sure mine were before the watch was shipped. Just a little something to keep in mind.

If you look at those pics, they are not. Six o'clock marker is also badly placed.

Though as long as you and dealer both are strict on quality control, you will have an awesome watch.

My problem with the older version SMP is the crystal and AR are not that good. The new ceramic ones are much better.

Look at the difference in the 2 pictures. The same goes for the SMP chronos, not as crisp as the newer Omegas.DSCN0235_zpse480d950.jpg

You're probably right, 2012 version is better. Still think I'll get one though, gen is out of the question anyways with my economy...

I think your chrono version looks quite good though, saw a guy on here who switched out the short second hands and bezel for the gen parts, ended up with a nice looking watch

BTW- speaking of chronos, Josh is now releasing the new version SMP Chrono, they look pretty good, especially the black one.

Note- I think they may be Quartz???!!!

I can't remember where I saw this, but I have a slight memory of reading that this one wasn't very good and that a member who wanted to order one got talked out of it by the TD (!)

http://silix-prime.so/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=115_150_190&products_id=1694

(Anyone else recall this?)

Haha, I also read that exact post somewhere the other day, couple of days after making this post. Don't recall the name though, or where i found it... Think it said something about the watch being good looking on the outside, but that there were some issues with the movement or something

I ordered this for me, and the 35$ pumpkin PO for my buddy from Michelle the other day (before reading said post) but she hasn't gotten back to me with the QC pics yet

You are right, they are out on his website - must have been updated recently, they weren't there the other day

And yep, they are quartz...
