Calling all Watch Repair Wizzes - Houston, We Have A Problem

Best of luck with it all.

I think you need to get a hold of an old cheapie and take it apart to learn.

I stared learning on a $79 Seiko which I bought new off eBay just so I could take it apart .

Be extremely gentle as the parts inside are so delicate.

I learned this by screwing back the 'pallet bridge' a bit off center and bending it. Oops ... New part needed .

I received a M2M speedy recently and it was DOA and gave it a few gentle wacks. Couldn't get it to life but was smart enough to take it to my local watch man who got it going but there is a part broken and I am still searching for the part... For him to replace . The Speedy rep cost a lot more than my Seiko experimenter .

Oh , I also wrecked something on my Seiko date wheel.

Oops . New part needed there as well.

I would agree with sending the watch back to Josh and stick with higher priced movements but still get in there and take something apart. You will probably have more luck at watchmaking than me.

I just got my microscope delivered yesterday and WOW you can magnify and just about read "I am a rep" !

Have fun.
