Del 4,514 Posted July 8, 2010 Just wondered what the difference is between the regular Asian movement and the gold version (apart from price!). Lawrence seems to do both in his Subs, one of which I quite fancy getting... Your advice would be appreciated. Cheers, Del

KBH 7 Posted July 8, 2010 My guess is the Eta or Eta clone is gold colored and the 21j is the silver. That's fairly normal.
Del 4,514 Posted July 8, 2010 Sorry guys, should have put links in but was posting on my phone earlier - now back at a pc. Non-gold Sub LV Gold Sub LV Thanks, Del
KinCaidk 0 Posted July 8, 2010 Same movement. Maybe the gold one is of slightly better quality. I think the price difference is that one has saphire crystal and one doesn't

Good point about the sapphire crystal too .
KBH 7 Posted July 8, 2010 Interesting that he's using the exact same pictures for both of them.
Del 4,514 Posted July 13, 2010 According to HoS, the gold version is the Japanese citizen movement whereas the non-gold is the normal Asian mainland movement.
JohnG 41 Posted July 13, 2010 There are sterile Rolexes on the Bay that are advertised as having "gold" movement and it is clearly a 21j, but I don't know the significance of "gold" other than that is the color of the movement.
KBH 7 Posted July 13, 2010 I like the idea of the Citizen movement although we all know that even our trusted dealers have been know to stretch the truth when it comes to movements. With that said, I'd still pay a little more for the "possibility" of the Japanese movement as well as the AR crystal.
sconehead 5 Posted July 13, 2010 ...the gold 21j movement is supposed to be of better quality...doesn't fakey use these?
