New AP Ceramic Diver

Recommended Posts

JimmyV

Haven't seen a thread on this yet or maybe I missed it if so I apologize.

I received my AP 2013/2014 book in the mail yesterday and I was browsing the pages today when I caught this beauty. It's a bit different from the orange and the yellow diver. The color is different (red), ceramic, the lume on the indexes and hands are grey. So does anyone know if any of the factories are currently work on this as we speak? Since they already pushed out the orange ceramics, seems like they could do this watch also.

Sorry for the crappy ipad pics.

He has three.. Red Orange & Yellow and that seems to be the closest to the red... not a great red though

I don't know how I feel about the SS bezel screws. Looks good overall though. I think I would take that over the carbon version.

Yea, his (red) still looks very orangish to me and also the indexes, hands and bezel lume are white not gray.

I have seen that piece in the flesh. It is indeed red and is the first of the divers to have a see thru fastback, at least that's what the rep told me. It was wicked nice.

Which td did you get it from? And are the index's and bezel numbers white?

Either way very close by the makers. Red still looks a little orange to me an if the index's are white. Hopefully they can make them gray an mess with some reds.

My pics of the book doesn't do the color justice, the red is very red (if that makes sense).

Oh lol. Well that's strange it looks different in pics then in the book. The book makes the index's a prominent gray and well as the red. The actual pics makes the index's look white and the red more orangish. But then again lighting plays a huge role in watches.

Can't wait to see what the rep looks like. If it looks anything like the gen I'm deff going to buy.

It's orange, not red.

They released V1 and V2 over the summer - but they are PVD/DLC, not ceramic.

They also do have the display caseback.

Rep V1 had a dark orange color bezel with black hashmarks.

Rep V2 had a brighter/more vibrant orange color bezel with every hasmark in white.

True ceramic version (w ceramic crowns and matte finish dial) should be released within a few months or so...

(Hopefully it has the Miyota 9015 movement like Titanium fantasy Diver!)

PS. I've owned both V1 and V2 versions of this "Ceramic" Diver!

Also, the bezel screws are titanium not SS. Together with polished end links, they contrast the dark case very nicely.

Plus the watch has a nice hefty weight (like steel version.) Better than FC as that one is tooo light :-)

I am soooo happy they have a carbon diver..... Wanted to buy a Gen Carbon 44 Chronograph this summer... and just couldn't bring myself to spend all that money on

a watch that felt so light on the wrist ... it just seemed..... I wasn't getting much for my money..... stupid as it sounds.....and perhaps too discrete.......

I guess want a bit of bling for my buck at 25k......

I love my two rep Divers ... they are awsome.....and will be watching avidly for any more carbon releases.....

Bring on the Grand prix
