Has anyone repaired a broken date pusher on a pam 187G?

Hi All

I purchased a Pam 187 with a 7753 movement and it has a broken date pusher but the intact pusher head will be included with the watch.

I purchased it as it was an older version with the sunken subdials which I had been searching for and figured from the pics it might be an easy repair.

Has anyone repaired their broken date pusher or had it repaired and can you give some detail as to what is required.

I have read some simply over screwed theirs too far one way or the other and maybe it can be reattatched like a crown that comes off the shaft?

Is it a simple matter of gluing the head back on the mechanism or does it need to be threaded back on the mechanism or what happens exactly to cause them to break?

Thanks for any help here.
