Is this a Sea-Gull ST1901 Hand Wind Movement?

Recommended Posts

I have this watch in my sights, it has two registers on the dial, and a chronograph. Its a hand wound movement, and was wondering if this is the Sea-Gull ST1901, or could it be that rare rep movement? I forget its name now, something beginning with V iirc.

Thanks in advance!

That would be the Sea-Gull ST-19, yes:

Cool, thanks guys, wasn't sure if it was an Asian Lemania or Venus 75 or 175.

Thanks again!

It is what was once the Venus(1)75 now called (after a few changes) the ST-19.

Quick history lesson here: HANDS-ON : Sea-Gull 1963 Reissue | HOROLOGIUM

This movement is erroneously referred to as the "Asian Lemania" a movement it shares little in common with except being used in reps where a Lemania would be in a gen (eg: speedmaster) and the fact both are column wheel chronos and thus desirable MVTs. It's also as tough as nails, by far the best Chinese chrono produced today.

Thanks for sharing, col

Is this based off the omega handwind found in the moonie?

I've been looking soooo long for a good (open caseback) rep with the column wheel movement, but most of the ones I've hunted down seems to have flaws I just can't accept (A. Lange etc)...

Beautiful movement!
