Hey Folks,

I'm super-new to the watch world. I but busted two of my timepieces in the span of a week and stumbled upon you guys. Now I might just be hooked.

I'm trying to make heads or tails of the terminology, but I'm itching to pick something up!

I was jonesing for a Panerai I saw on the perfect clones site:

Then I realized that that blue face wasn't really blue!

Is this essentially the same as the watch posted on the Prestige board:

Any reason for the price difference? Any other thoughts?

First off, welcome...to the insanity!

To your question... the two watches are the same (no difference). The reason for the price difference is Robert aka PrestigeWatchCo is a wholesaler that doubles as a dealer on several of the fora. He is also know for having some of the best PAMs for the price. I will say this... he is not going to hold your hand through the transaction, he is more accustomed to the seasoned collectors that know what they want with out a million and one questions, mind changing, indecisiveness and the like. My suggestion is do your homework, know what you want, follow his directions regarding how to buy from him and you will receive a great quality watch for the best price. He has always treated me with the utmost respect and always over delivered on the watches I have purchased from him.

If you find this daunting, it is advisable that you go with another dealer for your first purchase.

I hope my strait forward response hasn't put you off, I just like to tell it like it is with out mincing words.

Welcome Kandyman. I's always good to see more USA members showing up. We're highly outnumbered here.

Welcome to the crazy addiction to the horologic pieces.

It´s good to see another Californian here, I live in Socal. By the way SF is my favorite US city by far!! lucky you for living up there.

Regarding your question, I think our good friend G.Curcio has given you a great input, I would add this suggestion: stick to the trusted dealers of the forum and take a look to this threads, I´m sure it will be very helpful for you in order to get involved in the rep world:
