George. 34 Posted February 13, 2014 Okay so. For a long time now, i've been trying to shift a Rotary I bought a little while ago. It's not getting any W/T, it's gotta go. After the fifth or sixth re-list on FleaBay, someone finally bids! Awesome! With this in mind, I make a few payments thinking i've got some mid-month money coming in from the auction. But the money never arrives. I leave it a day, I understand people have lives to lead. I send off an invoice and wait. I get impatient and send a follow up message through eBay saying if I were to receive funds today, I can get it to you by the weekend. Reasonable enough. He gets back to me a grand total of two minutes later asking for me to send my PayPal address to his email. Snappy response leads me to question why he wasn't so snappy with the payment. I question why he doesn't just use the payment system provided after an auction ends, he claims he 'can't find it'. I explain what he needs to do, he still can't find it. At this point, I figure i'm dealing with someone with somewhat decreased mental ability so I go ahead and send my PayPal address to his email. No harm done since he has it on eBay anyway. Then he starts asking weird shit. For instance, what the item number is. I say it's in every subject line of every message we exchanged on eBay. He also explains how he's going to pay me extra so I can get it out as quickly as possible after i receive the funds. At this point, i've got a clear idea of where this is going. So I think, before I report this fucktard, i'll toy with him a bit. He asks wether I have received a receipt from PayPal (also makes a very strong point to check spam filters). I check my spam filter and whoop-de-coo, Two PayPal emails. .... From a .gmx address. Well, i play along a bit more, saying i've received the emails, i'll dispatch the item. I mark it as 'Payment Received' in paypal, and then 'Dispatched' The fuckstain much be creaming his underwear now that he's just caught another innocent ebayer off guard. The suspect emails (I'm aware my email address is in here, don't sign me up to any weird porn) It appears i'm also selling a diamond ring. I wonder whose address this really is? First thing to note is my ebay name is not gbarnsleyboy2012. I decide to bring that up with my lovely buyer. "Hey, whats up with this name? My name isn't 'gbarnseyboy2009'?" He tells me to check my spam filters once again. I explain I did that, he tells me to check my f u c k i n g s p a m f i l t e r s a g a i n You're a shitty crook, buddy. I figure i'm not going to get any more laughs out of this bellend. By this point, I had reported the cumbucket to ebay so I go ahead and inform him of that fact. I also add tracking details to seal the deal Tracking: DICKHEAD Carrier: FUCKSTAINPOSTAL Maybe a little childish, might even get me into hot water with T'Bay, but it is what it is. I'd like to take this opportunity to apologise for my colourful language EDIT reuploaded with my e-address redacted with beautiful red squares as per Amit's advice

nute 1 Posted February 14, 2014 Feel your pain mate, I've had auctions on ebay where i think, oh great, foot a good price for that, only to find that the winning bidder is a scammer who starts up with the same "send me the tracking number and ill then pay you"crap. I also thought id hit the jackpot when i won a ten perrelet skeleton chromo for £600 which the vendor never sent despite starting it with no reserve bloody hate ebay
psantos1091 0 Posted February 15, 2014 I had to pay/refund 375$ for an item that was sold on eBay and then shipped to Chile that never left San Francisco. Buyers protection outweighed sellers protection.. damn USPS said I didn't have insurance. So in the end I lost my phone and still had to pay :'(
Jase 0 Posted February 15, 2014 I'll not sell anything on ebay. Rather give the item away than deal with a bunch of fuckmuppets.

That's changed now however. Sorry to hear that happened to you, buddy
Dr Yan 8 Posted February 16, 2014 I once sold a boat propeller on eBay to a guy in Ecuador. I was sure it was a scam , the prop was €60 and the postage was €210. It was legit though. The guy was very happy with his purchase .

JSJ 0 Posted February 16, 2014 Same for me. I had a car wheel for sale last month. Listed as UK only cos of the potential grief shipping it. Guy from France with zero feedback messaged me. 'How much to ship to France...' I thought, oh no, wtf... I quoted him thinking he'd go away. Anyway, he won, I shipped, he was over the moon. Turned out to be a totally gen top guy. He now has one positive feedback. So it's not always shite.
maduro 1 Posted March 8, 2014 Hey George, you should have had some fun with him and had him go on a wild goose chase..... you should have said,"Hey I got your PayPal payment and I can hand deliver to you!" These assholes have friends everywhere like rats. Then made the appointment then have his buddy show up at a really awkward place..... like near the police station or in the middle of no where. Then you apologize for not showing up that your dog died. Then do this a few more times.
