MK11 Nassau

Just found this and I'm liking it.

I'm a Sub fan and most of my collection are Subs or similar.

Plenty of reps and homages of this style around but this one appears a touch better quality and his blurb is encouraging.

I'm pretty keen on another Steinheart but this one is the smaller size which I prefer.

At a grand it's pretty much at my watch spend ceiling but I love the early Sub and bracelet so I'm leaning towards one of these but the 20 week lead is probably going to hold me from paying up.

Anyone have a Mk11 watch or know much about them apart from what their website tells?

James.

Expensive for what it is, but the same can be said for most "homage" gens. Gens too for that matter.

If the 20 week wait it too long have a search on watchrecon

Take a look at the Armida A9 500m with black dial. Gets fairly close for much less money. Same bracelet too!

I have a number of mkii watches and can honestly say they are the highest quality of anything I've ever handled. On par with my gen omega and gen rolex as far as I'm concerned. Check out the MKII website and the fan boys at WUS, where he has a sub-forum. The worst part is the waiting, but the product is tremendous. Mr Yao has an attention to detail that is rare, so there will always be demand for as long as he continues to produce. Unfortunately his prices have risen but I still think most of what he produces is worth it.

How is the bracelet on the Nassau? Those riveted jobs are typically rattly pain in the butt to size, piles of poo. I assume the MKII is better but the vintage motif may be really authentic.

I just wish there was a variation of design on these divers.

I'm a fan of Androids so I can understand boutique watch enthusiasts

and how devout the following can be, but damn all I see is another Rolex homage.

At least Android has a few ugly and unique models, still not as ugly as Hubl......! :giggle:

I dare not finish that last word because to each his own!

On the other hand, boutique watches for the most part are very well made.

I really was keen to get one of these and made several inquiries but the availability is so sporadic and delays so long added to the fact that the variations offered don't seem to last I just gave up as it was just too hard.

I'm sure the product is great but I'm not one to fall into the desperation category and don't have the patience or enthusiasm to wait six months so have given up.
