Hi

Just wanted to get some advise, I have bought a replica rolex date just from one of the dealers and have noticed it's not keeping time properly. I know this may sound strange but it's not slow its fast it keeps getting ahead of it's self by about 5 minutes every couple of days.

Can anyone give me any advise on wether i need to wind it differently etc.

thanks

Donna

Sounds like the watch needs regulating (not unusual even with gens).

If you know a local watchsmith who is willing to work on reps, it should be a simple fix.

I take advantage of this thread to ask: mine gains 1 minute per week. Is it normal for a (supposed) swiss eta?

thanks

that's very good, just less than 9 secs a day!

almost COSC standards ie +/- 6 secs per day

have you tried putting the watch in different resting positions over night?

Pretty easily regulated as G said. there are a few watchsmiths who will work on reps and are known to the boards but if you can find one locally it'll save you a lot of time with the watch spent in transit.

I don't think 5 minutes a day can be regulated.

My 1680 was gaining 8 minutes in 1 hour. I regulated it to +/- 2 seconds / week.

My dad told me if a watch gains a lot of time it is usually due to the hairspring being tangled shortening the stroke.
