question about sizing screws for watch back

Recommended Posts

I am restoring an 18K gen watch and the screws measure 0.88mm thread thickness (includes the thread).

I need to tap the hole in the watch case back.

Do you think the tap needs to be 0.8mm or 0.9mm?

Is the screw classified as a 0.8 or a 0.9mm screw?

I was planning to replace the stainless steel screws with 18K screws from Otto Frei

but the dimensions are not the closest:

My total screw length is 2.7mm from top of head to bottom of screw and head diameter is 1.3mm (I could always trim the gold head smaller)
