stac3 0 Posted March 26, 2014 Hi guys, The watch: Yepp, those cigars are real, unlike the watch. ;-) Looking for a vintage look and dark brown. Saw this on ebay: What do you guys think? If you have suggestions they will be really appreciated. Thanks!
elp 26 Posted March 26, 2014 We have some very talented strap makers here - see the Strap/accessories TD section: http://www.rwg.bz/board/index.php?showforum=187 For brown / vintage look I'd suggest looking at TimeBandit (he's a master with ammo pouches, subforum here: http://www.rwg.bz/board/index.php?showforum=206) or look at JohnG's offerings: http://www.rwg.bz/board/index.php?showtopic=73065 Good luck and post pics once you've got your strap please! Tom_Biggs 0 Posted March 26, 2014 What's the price and who is the craftsman? Why not purchase direct from one of the strap makers on the forum? I've purchased from Kain Heritage and was very impressed with the presentation and the strap. It's quite stiff compared to Di Stefano or Kevin's Ammo, but here are many great strap craftsman that I've been introduced to on here and Network54. Why bother with ebay? stac3 0 Posted March 27, 2014 I'm new to straps, that's why I was looking on ebay. greg_r 83 Posted March 27, 2014 My 177 is on a standard PAM Asso which suits it well: However, if you still want vintage, then get in touch with one of our strapmakers - you'll do a lot better with these guys than you'll do on eBay as they'll custom build you exactly what you want. MiglioreStraps made probably the nicest vintage-style strap I've ever worn had - it's currently on my PAM187 but will be moving over to a 6154 build once I find time to finish building the watch... BaggyPants 0 Posted March 27, 2014 I have a few straps ranging from dark brown to a golden tan colour. I will photograph them with my 177 when I get home, to give you an idea of the different looks.

BaggyPants 0 Posted March 27, 2014 (edited) Not the best photos, and I laid the spare straps over my favourite, which is the Bakeka, made in Italy. Bakeka light tan raw edge, cream stitching: Bronzy dark brown, white stitching: SNPR, stripped of laquer and vintaged. Needs restitching: Unknown russet strap, brown stitching: Hope that gives you some ideas about colours. Edited March 27, 2014 by BaggyPants
stac3 0 Posted March 28, 2014 Thanks for the pictures. I'm not sure between those 2: http://www.kainheritage.com/html/strap24mm/thekain/tk329b.html http://www.kainheritage.com/html/strap24mm/xiheritage/xh110b.html What do you guys think?
BaggyPants 0 Posted March 28, 2014 With a titanium cased watch like the 176 or 177, I would go with the first one with more subdued stitching. The white stitching looks better with stainless cases.
stac3 0 Posted March 28, 2014 In my head the stitching was matching the lume.
Pseudonym 0 Posted March 28, 2014 #1 for me. Stitching it more subtle.
BaggyPants 0 Posted March 28, 2014 (edited) In my head the stitching was matching the lume. I initially thought the same, but it doesn't seem to work that way. The index colour doesn't look stark white next to white stitching. If you look at the dark brown Bronzy I posted, the white stitching is too much and makes it look far to busy near the watch head. Tom_Biggs 0 Posted March 28, 2014 #1 for me. Stitching it more subtle. Agreed. Although I went with a slightly darker brown with cobalt stitching when I ordered from Kain.
