How can I make a hole to a leather strap?

Recommended Posts

TAGster

Maybe a dumb question but I really do not want to ruin my new leather strap for my PAM.

Long story short: I ordered a new leather strap for my PAM (24mm) but is too large and I need like two holes more on it to fit properly in my skiny wrist.

So, what tool can I use to make this hole?.

The holes are not round, but more like oval shape.

Thanks!

Cheers.

Take it a mall shoe repairer . watch repairer, they should have a hole punch, if not, you could always buy one, they're not expensive, plus if you're going to be buying more Pannys and straps, it'll never go wrong.

You can also get single punches, round or elliptical, I have a set of 6x about $20.00

I'm searching for that oblong punch for ages, no luck.

Stop buying PAMs, they're too big for you.

My wife stole one of those old fashioned ones from her ex, with the rotating wheel of punches of increasing size. I've used it several times on straps.

I found 15 pieces set of punches witch diameter from 2 - 22mm for 8,06€ + 3,06€ shipping (to Slovakia, unfortunately international shipping is not available) External link

Some very handy tool can be found in shops for horse riders. It looks like AllergyDoc describes.

Do not try to make hole with iron nail!

Thanks for you answers mates!

I think I will take my strap to a watch repair store and let them make the holes.

In the mean time I will look for the puncher Baldrick suggested.

Cheers!

Yes. You want something that punches the leather out.
