bob_b 0 Posted September 9, 2010 Hi all, I've been looking at getting a rep for a while and have found a couple of nice IWC watches which I like but cant decide which one to go for. I slightly prefer the first one (the "REGULATOR") one but don't know how reliable the modified 6498 movement is? http://www.watch-international.com/index.p...roducts_id=3218 http://www.watch-international.com/index.p...roducts_id=3165 If anyone had any experience of these reps your advice would be most welcome. The only other watch that I like at the moment (in this price bracket) is http://www.watch-international.com/index.p...roducts_id=1582 Thanks in advance! Akira 0 Posted September 9, 2010 i like the PORTUGESE REGULATOR +1 I like the Frank Muller too, but its a totally different style to the others. You can't compare them IMO
wat44 0 Posted September 9, 2010 I would save up and choose from a range of higher quality if you are on a small budget, the noob mariner or look ar quartz watches eg TAG
greg_r 83 Posted September 10, 2010 THe 6498 is a solid reliable movement - no worries there
Comfortdelgro2009 0 Posted September 10, 2010 Tag heuer Slr mercedes. They are super rep!
manrikisan 0 Posted September 10, 2010 I like number 2. I would be concerned about number 3 just because the tourbillion would not be functional and would be a dead giveaway that its a rep.
turnipz 0 Posted September 10, 2010 (edited) Ya having a non-functioning tourbillon is sort of weird. Anyways why are these watches so expensive, look at it: http://www.jomashop.com/iwc-mens-watch-iw544401.html I wonder what gives it a 9k price tag, nice watches though. coolin 0 Posted September 10, 2010 I actually tried on a Gen Vintage Portugese not long back and it was one beautiful watch which was only let down by the lack of date for me. However of the 3 that is defo the best. As for a Tourby you gotta go real movement or not at all IMO as GBOGO says "GBOGH" lol col
