Olig7475 0 Posted June 3, 2014 So I got my Blackbird a couple of days ago from one of our TD's, it's been working fine but I could hear the rotor catching on something so I opened it up and these fell out!!!!! scozzie 0 Posted June 3, 2014 Yeah, looks like a loose movement holder tab. As court said, easy to put back in. There should be either one or two others equally spaced around the outside edge of the movement. and case, Take a look for those and you will see how and where to put it back in. JSJ 0 Posted June 3, 2014 Unfortunately, not unusual in my experience. Sheered off is bad because the remaining bits of the screws are likely to be still in the movement. It will operate without it and like said ^, you seem to have all the bits, which is good. Worst thing is if they are lurking inside the movement. Operating it without the holders is not good because the movement is likely to flop about inside the case. Pic of the movement would be very helpful. Has the watch been dropped? That mean the remaining threaded part of the screw will still be lodged in the hole it belongs in. These part of the screw need to come out and then new screw be inserted so that the tabs hold the movment in place. More complicated and fidly than I first though. J!m 289 Posted June 3, 2014 OH! This could be a problem... The clamp is from the ring, not the movement aparently. That is bad because the ring is most likley a blind hole so getting it out WILL be a problem. The movement main plate is through-tapped so there are more options for dealing with that... On the other hand, you can send the ring only to a watchsmith and they might be able to burn it out with Alum or whatever they sell from Bergeon... Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

The parts are out of the movement, which is a good thing. Check the other two movement holder screws to make sure they are tight. If things are not moving around, you may be able to get away with the two movement holders alone. Anything else is going to require some doing. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Olig7475 0 Posted June 3, 2014 checked the other two screws, very gently, and they appear to be nipped up tight.
