nev848 0 Posted July 26, 2014 Well me and the good lady love our art and have just found two pieces by 2014 artists of the year Kerry Darlington. Well called the studio this morning and secure one original ( the first piece ) and one limited edition unique piece. Anyone that watches Posh Pawn on Channel 4 might recognise the second piece as it was featured on the program a couple of months ago. We already have one of her pictures and the colours and techniques are simply jaw dropping, Don't ask the price please as bang goes my Tudor BB and Chopard :( but at least the wife is happy. The first original is an abstract of a volcano if your interested.

Cynikal.Mindset 1 Posted July 26, 2014 I have zero appreciation for modern art. If its your thing and you're happy then kudos but I wouldn't spend a thousands on a painting.

Fully understand you point of view but as an investment the original of the second piece two years ago was purchased for £20k and has now sold for £96k so £76k in two years well you do the maths. Must be some good money in the Pawn industry. We have waited for the Original piece as they are like hens teeth to get hold of. We have a week to have it at our house to see if we like it. If not it goes back at not cost. Guess this is a win win situation.

Callumz 44 Posted July 26, 2014 Investments aside - if the paintings look good in your house and make you happy then who cares? If they turn out to appreciate in value it is merely the icing on the cake Im sure they will bring both yourself and your family enjoyment for many years to come! TheInthusiest 0 Posted July 26, 2014 I am a huge fan of modern art and I love this so so much! I don't however love the fact that the funds for a gen watch are gone (I am praying for you) Well done!

Cheers well it's about time the wife had something to look at The above pictures do no justice to the art as Kerry uses several layers of deep lacquer so they have real depth to them almost 3D. If you have the spare cash then invest as you won't be disappointed.

Frankt8242 1 Posted July 26, 2014 Almost certainly a better investment than most horological pieces!!....
millionaire wannabe 1 Posted July 26, 2014 The Volcano is my favorite!! The bottom one seems a little busy. ...pleasant looking girl, but cluttered. Both are still very nice. Definitely will be worth much, much more someday. ... you can buy a future Rollie or Chopard that hasn't even been designed yet, if you hang onto these for a while before selling! onionbag 1 Posted July 26, 2014 Nice pick-up Nev (as the parlance is here), these are something, which, if you appreciate them, will enhance the quality of your life.
nev848 0 Posted July 26, 2014 Valuable or not they're stunning pieces Nev. Thanks Robin. We already have a matching Volcano piece of hers and the colours have to be seen to be believed. If you like them it is worth getting her work now as they are rapidly going up in value.

To be honest I look at this more than the TV. Due to the deep lacquer and multiple layers it constantly changes through out the day. Here is the first piece of hers we got. This will pair up with the new one.
