This is the only piece of Wallnut I had - fantastic grain through it, with 2 lines of concentric circles running down the barrel.

This pen is a natural finish, however is coated with CA - I have been trialling this finish as an experiment.

As a result, the pen is very hard and durable, while showing off the wood's natural shine without the high gloss.
