jeboa 0 Posted July 30, 2014 Hi, Probably a common 'problem' this one? Seamaster replica purchased from Toro Bravos this year: http://www.torobravos2014.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=37_128_129&product_id=851 Omega 2012 Seamaster 300M Pro SS/SS Ceramic Bezel Watch dropped from table height onto tiled floor - mechanism seems to be working fine, but 6 of the hour markers have become detached from the face. Fantastic looking watch, excellent quality on the case, bezel and strap - but now in need of repair. The hour markers look to have small 'pins' on the back and the face has locating holes stamped into it. Any ideas how difficult this would be to fix - and anyone in the UK who could do it? Thanks in advance.
binatang 0 Posted July 30, 2014 Sorry to hear about this. It happens even when you don't drop your watch. It's an easy fix if you have the aptitude & the tools for it. However, there are 2 ways you can handle this. The Easy Way. Pop off the case back. Take out the movement. How you actually achieve this would depend on how the watch was constructed but usually not difficult. With the dial exposed. Glue back the hour markers using jewelers glue. The Hard Way. Pop off the case back. Take out the movement. Remove watch hands. Remove dial. Fix the hour markers but glue them from behind the dial. The hard way produces a better end result & is how gens are made. You reduce the chances of messing up the front of the dial. The re-glued hour marker will also look neater as they will be flush with the dial. Re-glueing from the front always results in uneven markers as they would be seating on a layer of glue. TRANSPORTER 1 Posted July 31, 2014 Nice easy job that you can do yourself, when applying the glue use a fine oiler to apply the glue, take your time and use a loup to aid you ok have fun and let us know how you get on
