Degsy1880 254 Posted August 17, 2014 So Guys looking at possibly starting a Seiko FFF project so looking at purchasing the following after doing some reading and I am basically just wanting confirmation that dial will fit the other bits so here goes SNZH55 - http://www.creationwatches.com/products/seiko-automatic-sports-89/seiko-automatic-sports-snzh55k1-snzh55-snzh55k-mens-watch-2304.html?currency=GBP dial from dagz - http://www.10watches.com/apps/webstore/products/show/3486077# type b Bezel and silver hand set from yobokies - http://forums.watchuseek.com/f30/fs-custom-fff-modding-parts-new-lumed-glass-bezel-inserts-available-784063.html Don't know if I should red acrylic dip the seconds hand or buy a different one, think I read somewhere that dagz does a eta second hand with red tip but unsure if it fits the 55 and cant see it on website. Reading around the mods look quite simple to do and think I would like to attempt myself. any other tips or info you guys would like to share. Probably go with brady sailcloth with white or silver stich. cheers D.
andyboy 5 Posted August 19, 2014 Hi there The watch you have picked is the right one. The dial is wrong...the one you have linked is for watches with the crown at the 4 o`clock position you need the 3 o`clock one so that the dial feet are correct. http://www.10watches.com/apps/webstore/products/show/244957 Bezel and hands are correct. In my opinion the stock hands are good but it`s down to personal choice. The red tipped seconds hands from Dagaz are for the ETA movement and will not fit the 7S36 movement.Best thing to do is paint it yourself. Loads of info regarding how to do the mod if you do a google search.I have done loads so if you are stuck or need any advice just ping me a pm. Here is a link to Pharmo`s mod.It has the red tipped second hand http://www.rwg.bz/board/index.php?showtopic=77709 Good luck and remember to post your finished watch andyboy
greg_r 83 Posted August 19, 2014 Yep - as andy says, be careful you buy the correct dial, the one you linked is the wrong one and whilst it can still be made to fit, it gets a little fiddly as you need to remove the dial feet, remove the day wheel and then use dial tape to fix the thing in position (ask me how I know this... ). With the right dial it's a very easy mod - the hardest bit is refitting the second hand, which is a bit fiddly (and very easy to bend, so be careful). Daywatch 4 Posted September 6, 2014 This will be a fine project. The brady sailcloath for it fits perfectly, another worthy addition and the easiest mod is the lumed bezelring, gives it a lot of presence at night. Also just painted the seconds hand with acrylic red:) Good luck with Yours
